Mapping and GIS Resources
ArcGIS Online Map Gallery – SRPC maintains online and interactive maps in our ArcOnline Map Gallery. This map gallery includes all our Standardized Maps, as well as other project and plan specific maps.
ArcGIS Online Self-Service Mapping – SRPC’s ArcOnline site also gives you the opportunity to create your own map using any of the standard GIS data available on our site. To do this visit the “Map” page on our ArcOnline site and click the “Modify Map” button on the top right of the page. Click “Basemap” to change the basemap used on the map. Click “Add” and then “Search for Layers” to add any of the SRPC standard data layers. Click “Add” and then “Add Layer from File” to add any of your own GIS data to the map.
Open Data Portal – Most of our Standardized Maps GIS data, and some other project-specific GIS data, are available on our Open Data Portal.
ESRI Products: The ArcGIS Platform created by ESRI is the industry standard for GIS software and the main tool that SRPC uses for GIS. SRPC frequently uses ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, the Collector App, and various other extensions.
QGIS: A free and open GIS software.
TransCAD:The first and only GIS software designed specifically for use by transportation planners.
NH GRANIT – As New Hampshire’s Statewide GIS Clearinghouse, NH GRANIT offers a variety of state GIS data.
Maine Office of GIS (MEGIS) – A Data Catalog for Maine’s statewide standard GIS data.
MassGIS – A Data Catalog for Massachusetts’s statewide standard GIS data.
NH Department of Transportation (NHDOT) GIS Page – NH DOT GIS data available for download, as well as interactive maps and printable maps.
NH Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) GIS Page – NHDES GIS data available for download, as well and interactive maps and printable maps.
US Census TIGER Page – Census TIGER (Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing) Data are the geographical boundaries for a variety of Census-determined areas, such as Blocks, Block Groups, Tracts, etc.
US Census Data – The United States Census Bureau maintains a vast amount of data on demographics, socioeconomics, housing, public health, etc. This data can be downloaded and joined with the Census TIGER data to create geospatial representations of the Census datasets.
USGS EarthExplorer – The primary source for USGS GIS datasets.
NH GRANIT Coastal Viewer – An online mapping portal to view many of the NH GRANIT datasets.
NH Department of Environmental Services OneStop – An online mapping portal to view and download the publicly-accessible NH DES data layers.
NH Department of Transportation GIS Page – An online mapping portal for NH DOT data sets. Includes maps for NH Roads, NH DOT Projects, NH DOT Right-of-Way (ROW), pedestrian infrastructure, bridges, etc.
Avitar Associates of New England – Avitar hosts assessing data for some of the municipalities in the SRPC region.
Vision Government Solutions – Vision hosts assessing data for some of the municipalities in the SRPC region.
NEARC – The Northeast Arc User Group is an independent, volunteer organization dedicated to helping users of GIS software be more successful.
NEURISA – The New England Chapter of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA) is a professional organization that provides a forum for promoting and facilitating the use and integration of spatial information technology, fostering relationships, contributing to professional development, and representing GIS professionals.
