Data Collection

Overview

Every year, SRPC collects data for the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT), the Statewide Asset Data Exchange System (SADES), and various municipal and regional projects. Data collection efforts support SRPC’s transportation, economic development, environmental and land use planning initiatives. The SRPC team is prepared to collect data in the field using ESRI products, field tools, or directly from municipalities.

  • Traffic count data collection is determined by a schedule set forth by NHDOT and by request from municipalities. Bicycle and pedestrian counts and turning movement counts may be requested as well.
  • Sidewalk inventories, culvert assessments, and Road Surface Management System (RSMS) data collection falls under the Statewide Asset Data Exchange System (SADES) managed by the University of New Hampshire’s Technology Transfer Center (T2). It is an online database of local transportation information. It was created to standardize local programs and processes, enabling the compilation and comparison of data statewide.
  • Building permit data is collected directly from municipalities and is used to create models of future transportation needs in the greater Seacoast region.
  • Custom data collection such as street tree inventories and community facilities are available upon request.
