NH Geodata Portal

Each of the nine regional planning commissions (RPC’s) in NH have a long history of GIS practice, using geospatial data, maps, and analysis in their regional planning activities. The RPCs are both contributors to and beneficiaries of GIS practices and products from stage agencies and local government, and thus serve as important conduits between these government levels. However, the ad-hoc and disorganized variety of content and hosting strategies complicates the discovery, use, and sharing between the RPCs and their audience of stakeholders, undermines the legitimacy of these resources, and represents a missed opportunity to highlight applications of NH statewide GIS data.

For this project, a statewide RPC Hub webpage was created to host the available data, maps, and applications that each of the individual RPCs created, all together in one space. Each of the RPCs in NH were asked to create a regional specific map, app, storymap, or other type of application to begin populating geospatial content into the statewide RPC Hub webpage. In support of this effort, SRPC created a “Regional Waste Disposal and Recycling Systems in the SRPC Region” storymap. This storymap highlights the flow of different types of waste throughout the SRPC region.
