Dover Regulatory Audit 2024

Project Description

The City of Dover applied for HOP funding to complete a regulatory audit for the purpose of discovering paths to “missing middle” types of housing. SRPC was charged with researching best practices surrounding financial incentives and recuing “red tape” for local residents and developers. Additionally, SRPC initiated an outreach campaign of a survey, poster boards, and interviews with these local developers. UNH students completed some data and market analysis and assisted in outreach to younger Dover residents. SRPC has met with city staff and the newly-formed Committee to Address Housing Needs, who are themselves drafting a strategy in tandem with the findings of the audit.

As of July 2024, the audit is still in the drafting stage. An extension was recently granted, and staff are adjusting the timeline of the project accordingly.

Opportunities to Provide Feedback

The survey concluded in early May, however, we encourage interested individuals to follow the meeting schedule of the Committee to Address Housing Needs.
