Coordinated Transit Plan

Overview

The “Coordinated Plan” presents a comprehensive, strategic approach to improving the coordination between the wide range of transportation services in southeast New Hampshire. Its primary purpose is to identify ways to enhance transportation access, to minimize duplication of services, and to encourage the most cost-effective transportation service possible. Strafford and Rockingham Planning Commissions write the plan together with the Southeast NH Regional Coordination Council for Community Transportation. The Coordinated Plan considers the full range of transportation providers and presents strategies to coordinate them to make it easier for people to access the critical services they need:

  • Fixed route services like COAST
  • Intercity service from C&J Buslines and Amtrak
  • Providers like Ready Rides that are focused on non-emergency medical transportation
  • Human service agencies like Lamprey Healthcare and Community Partners that provide a range of transportation services for seniors, people with disabilities, and low-income families
  • Food access services like Rockingham Nutrition Meals on Wheels

And many others!
