Under both the New Hampshire Rivers Management and Protection Program and the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System designation, local river advisory committees are required to produce and routinely update their river management plans. The last Lamprey River Management Plan update was finalized in 2013. As part of updating the 2025 plan, the Lamprey River Advisory Committee (LRAC) wanted maps that will be useful to the committee and the public, with both static maps and online maps that can be customized. The Strafford Regional Planning Commission (SRPC) was commissioned by the LRAC to create these maps.
