Questions
Q: I am writing to inquire whether a more recent financial audit for the Strafford Regional Planning Commission is available beyond those currently posted on your website. If a newer version exists, would it be possible for you to share a copy with me for our review?
A: We have updated the SRPC website to include the audits, budgets, and financial reports to date.
Q: What is the amount paid for audit services in the prior year, and is there is a set budget for this year’s engagement?
A: The amount has varied dependent on whether a single audit was required. The most recent audit was $15,000.
Q: Is SRPC is open to remote or hybrid audit procedures, or is on-site work is required for all phases?
A: We have historically participated in a hybrid approach. We value the opportunity to meet with a “real person” at the onset of the audit process. We have typically hosted auditors on-site for one or two days to gather information toward the end of the assignment. Most selections and work has be conducted remotely via a secure online accountant portal.
Q: Is there is a preference for working with firms that have a local presence, or if firms outside the immediate area are welcome to propose, provided all experience and compliance requirements are met?
A: We appreciate working with a firm that has local knowledge and expertise – New Hampshire or New England more broadly – and the ability to engage in person at least once in the process. That said, please refer to the posted RFP for our firm selection criteria.
