Regional Master Plan

Overview

A Regional Master Plan is a comprehensive guiding document that municipalities within the SRPC region may adopt to aid their own development and advancements based on their current and future needs. It serves as a blueprint for the region’s future vision and assists communities with setting of the longer-term goals that will improve the lives of their citizens. It is SRPC’s duty as a regional planning commission to prepare a comprehensive master plan for the development of the region within its jurisdiction, including the commission’s recommendations among other things per RSA 36:47.  Our role at SRPC is to help communities identify the goals and objectives they seek to achieve in the near future and outline them in a comprehensive and concise way for the local governments use. In 2015, SRPC, along with nine other regional planning commissions, was awarded a Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Commission Grant administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The funding was sufficient to support three years of Master plan updates and the last Regional Master Plan update at SRPC took place in 2015.
