Join the NH Coastal Adaptation Workgroup (CAW) for an evening with local researchers and community representatives to discuss how coastal groundwater will rise with sea level, and the impacts to water quality, infrastructure, and ecosystem health. The workshop is geared towards Municipal staff, board and commission members, public works staff, emergency management personnel, coastal community members, consultants, engineers, and members of the NH Coastal Risk and Hazards Commission.
Speakers include Jayne Knott and Dr. Jennifer Jacobs (UNH and the Infrastructure and Climate Network (ICNet)), Kyle Pimental (Strafford Regional Planning Commission), and Dale Pike (Newmarket Town Council).
What to expect:
• Learn from local experts where groundwater is expected to rise and by how much.
• Discuss how communities may be affected and what we can do to prepare.
• Discuss how properties that currently have groundwater problems may see these problems get worse.
• Share your knowledge and experiences. We want to hear from YOU.
Thursday, April 26, 2018, 5:00 – 7:45 pm (light dinner provided 5:00-5:30) at the Hugh Gregg Coastal Conservation Center, 89 Depot Road, Greenland, NH
