Draft 2019-2040 Metropolitan Transportation Plan
The Strafford Regional Planning Commission, functioning as the federally mandated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), is holding a public comment period and public hearing on the draft 2019-2022 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and the draft 2019-2040 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (Metro Plan) updates. The TIP is a prioritized list of federal and state funded regional transportation projects. Strafford Regional Planning Commission is conducting this process in accordance with the Strafford MPO’s Public Involvement Procedures and federal and state regulations.
As of July 20, 2013, all of New Hampshire is in unclassifiable/attainment for the 2008 8-Hour Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS), also known as the 2008 Ozone Standard; the 1997 8-Hour Ozone NAAQS (the 1997 ozone standard) is revoked for transportation conformity purposes in the Boston-Manchester-Portsmouth (SE) NH area.
A thirty-day public comment period for these documents begins on Monday, January 14th 2019 and runs through Thursday, February 14th 2019. A public hearing to review comments and solicit final public comment has been scheduled for Friday, February 15th 2019 at 9 AM at the Strafford MPO Policy Committee meeting at the Rochester Community Center in Conference Room 1A, 150 Wakefield Street, Rochester, NH.
The documents are available on the SRPC website (strafford.org), at the SRPC office, and the Rochester, Somersworth, and Dover Public libraries. Copies can be sent to interested parties upon request.
