NHDOT Ten Year Plan

Overview

The Ten-Year Plan consists of New Hampshire’s funding priorities for improvements to the transportation system over the next ten years. The plan gets updated every two years and is signed into state law through the legislative process. RPCs are part of the first phase of updating the Ten-Year Plan by soliciting and prioritizing new projects from municipalities and transit agencies. The Ten-Year Plan projects is also incorporated into the Strafford Metropolitan Transportation Plan.

Based on its population and miles of roads that are eligible for federal funds, SRPC receives an allocation of $4.9 million for each new Ten-Year Plan and associated projects. New projects are prioritized for the available funding by the SRPC Technical Advisory Committee and Policy Committee. SRPC also advocates for regional projects and priorities through the political process of developing the Ten-Year Plan. This includes attending public hearings facilitated by members of the Governor’s Advisory Commission on Intermodal Transportation (GACIT) and legislative committees of the state legislature.
