Stefanie Casella

Name: Stefanie Casella

Position: Data Collection and Analysis Assistant

How long have you worked for SRPC? It will be two years in April.

Where did you go to college and what degree did you earn? I went to college at the University of New Hampshire and earned a bachelor of science in community and environmental planning.

What is your role here at SRPC? I coordinate and manage data collection and assist in data analysis and project research.

What’s one of your favorite projects or things that you’ve done while at SRPC? I really enjoy working on the building permit report because it’s fun to collect the data and be able to see and provide a snapshot of growth throughout the region. This year we are collaborating with the state Office of Strategic Initiatives on data collection to streamline processes for municipalities.

What’s your favorite thing about working for SRPC? Getting to collaborate with so many people in the office on lots of different projects—and I get a place to display my plants so that they get lots of sun!

Please share a picture of a place or pastime that you would use to describe your “happy place.”

“This summer I was lucky enough to reconnect with some former UNH Sailing teammates and join them in the Tuesday night race league out of Portsmouth. We sail aboard Jump, J133 captained by Chris Lund. There’s nothing better than getting out on the water for some friendly competition!”

What’s your favorite food? I can’t pick just one. Pizza, mac and cheese, and nachos, right off the bat. But there’s nothing like a good sandwich.

Your house is on fire, what’s the one thing you grab? I’m tempted to say my cookbook, but in reality probably pictures of my friends and family. My cookbook has all my go-to comfort foods, which would be helpful if I lost all my possessions, but memories with family and friends are irreplaceable.

Where did you grow up and what is one thing you love about that area? Jackson, NH. I went to high school in Bethel, Maine, which I also consider one of the places where I grew up. I love the mountains and tight-knit community in these areas.

What song would you choose to start a dance party? All Star by Smash Mouth.

Name three movies that you could watch over and over? “Top Gun,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” and “The Point.”

What’s an accomplishment that you are very proud of? Graduating from college.

What’s your most used gif or emoji? My most used gif is Jim Carrey dancing in a tutu in “Ace Ventura.” My most used emoji is an upside-down smiley face.

What is your top wish list travel destination? To go see the northern lights in Scandinavia.

Go-to ice cream flavor? Vanilla. You can put any topping on it, and it’s the base for any other flavor. You need a good base.

Favorite quote or song lyric? In the movie “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” there is a song line that says “From the ashes of disaster, grow the roses of the success.”
